Check-in and Check-out

Workers use check-in and check-out to mark the start and end of their work period or a specific job. The system saves their GPS location at each point.

How it works

Check-in

When a worker starts their day or arrives at a job site, they tap Check-in in the mobile app. The system records:

  • Date and time
  • GPS coordinates
  • Linked job (if checking in to a specific task)

Check-out

When they finish, they tap Check-out. The system records the end time and location.

The difference between check-in and check-out gives you actual work duration for that job or shift.

Check-in per job vs. per shift

TypeWhen to use
Shift check-inWorker starts their workday — one check-in for the whole day
Job check-inWorker arrives at a specific client site for a specific task

You can use both. Shift check-in tracks overall work time. Job check-in tracks time spent at each client.

What managers see

  • Who is currently checked in and where
  • How long each job took on site
  • Average time per job type — useful for planning and pricing
  • Late check-ins or missing check-outs

Why this matters

  • Accurate billing — prove time spent on client sites
  • Fair payroll — workers get credit for time in the field
  • Better planning — know realistic job durations for scheduling
  • Accountability — confirm workers were on site when they said they were
tip

Make check-in a habit for your team from day one. It takes two seconds and gives you valuable data for analytics and billing.
